Northumbria Police are investigating after a woman and her family were racially abused while travelling on a Go North East bus along Saltwell Road in Gateshead.
The incident happened at around 8.30pm on August 7, when a man sitting behind the family allegedly launched a tirade of abuse.
The woman, in her 20s, and her relatives were left shaken and distressed by the ordeal.
Detectives have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to who may have been in the area at the time.
